Cambodia is a beautiful country with a rich contrasting culture from mystical, ancient historical temples to a sad more recent war torn history. The friendly, hospitable people of Cambodia are clearly moving on from there terrible history which broke many families and individuals alike.

The unforgettable Angkorian temples located in and around Siem Reap are a must see attraction, the most famous temple is Angkor Wat, which is truly an outstanding sight. The other temples in and around the area are just as alluring and in some ways more special as they attract less hoards of tourists making the experience far more personal.

The Capital of Cambodia is Phnom Penh which in contrast to Siem Reap has newer temples and recent memories of the terrible times the Cambodians had to endure. The S-21 prison camp has been turned into a museum/memorial for all those linked to the Khmar Rouge and to the many innocent victims. The killing Fields are 15 kilometers from Phnom Penh, a remembrance memorial has been built on the sight where many innocent victims of the Khmar Rouge were killed and put into mass graves, which is horrific, sad and touching.
